Review: Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow

Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow

It’s no secret – I love to sleep. Some people can function on a few hours of dozing, but I’m not one of them. If I’m going to even vaguely resemble a human by the time my alarm clock goes off in the morning, I need to have had a solid eight hours of undisturbed, quality sleep. You might say my bed is my sanctuary. Or obsession. Whatever.

So when I was offered the chance to try out the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow in exchange for a review, I obviously jumped at the chance of a better night’s sleep. After all, the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow claims to have the softness of down with the supportiveness of memory foam, which sounded too good to pass up on.

What is the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow?

The Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow is designed to be both supportive and soft so it can relieve neck pain and tension and prevent any stiffness. It’s 100% hypoallergenic and, as air can flow freely through the pillow, it can stay cool throughout the night. I was assured that it’s cruelty free and that its production is environmentally friendly. Not only that, but there’s a six month money back guarantee and all returned items are recycled. Yay for environmentally conscious companies!

My Experience with the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow

I honestly didn’t know how I’d get on with the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow. I’m not a huge fan of memory foam, precisely because of the way it moulds to the shape of my body. I know that’s the whole point of it, but it usually makes me feel like I’m sinking in quicksand. The difference with the Quiesta pillow is that the memory foam is in flake form so, while the pillow does move with the movement of my head, it also maintains its supportiveness and springiness. I really loved that!

After the first night, I started to get excited for bed time. Laying my head down on my new pillow was an absolute dream! It was the ideal size for me because I like my pillows plump, but for people who prefer to have their heads laying down flatter at night, it might not be the ideal choice.

Unfortunately, after the first few weeks I noticed that the very plumpness and springiness that was making my bedtime so wonderful was starting to lessen. The pillow was getting a little flatter and, while I could easily plump it back up again with a quick shake and a little beating, I was a little disappointed to find it losing its bounciness so soon.

I also started to notice that some of the tension in my back had started to work its way to the surface. (This has been an issue for me ever since I was in a car accident a few years ago.) Yes, that means my back and neck have been a little more stiff and tender than usual, but perhaps it’s one of those things that needs to get worse before it can get better. I’m choosing to see this as a good thing and I’m excited to see what long term effects using the Quiesta pillow will have on this problem.

Conclusion

Overall, I was very pleasantly surprised by the Quiesta Memory Flake Pillow. Not only was it unbelievably comfortable, but I think it’s really done my back and neck some good. Only time will tell how well it will solve my tension problems and how long this pillow will keep its shape for, but for now I’m really enjoying using it.
