5 Ethical Brands you can Feel Proud to Support

I’m a firm believer that every penny you spend is a vote. Cruelty free over tested on animals, vegan over beef, tequila over gin…every time you purchase something, you’re telling the bigwigs sat around a giant table somewhere in New York that product A is worth investing in more than product B. Recently there’s been a sudden explosion of ethical brands and products onto the marketplace and I’m more than ready to put my money behind them to send the message that we want more!

Here’s a list of ethical brands that go above and beyond that you can feel proud to spend your hard earned cash on.

1. Sand Cloud

Not only do Sand Cloud donate 10% of their profits to marine conservation, but they use their platform to highlight how polluted our oceans really are. The t-shirts in their new line are made from recycled plastic bottles (which still totally blows my mind) and their beach towels are simply a beach bum’s dream.

2. Lush

Lush is a company that likes to make noise about environmental, political and social issues and they’re doing absolute wonders for the zero waste movement. They offer a huge range of ‘naked’ products with no packaging, including their fantastic shampoo and conditioner bars. They also offer an in-store recycling service. You get a free face mask every time you bring back five empty black containers. And, of course, all their products are cruelty free!

3. Eco Oddball

If you like to let your t-shirt do the talking, Eco Oddball has a range of eco-warrior, vegan-friendly, bad-ass slogan t-shirts to choose from. All t-shirts are made from 100% organic cotton and produced in a sustainably powered factory. Plus, 10% of all profits go to conservation projects to protect the planet. Re-stocking your wardrobe never felt so satisfying.

4. 4 Ocean

Another ethical brand committed to cleaning up our oceans is 4 Ocean and the way they go about it is inspiring. Their bracelets are made from recycled materials and for each bracelet that’s purchased, one pound of litter is pulled out of the ocean. They hire captains and cleaning crews who work 7 days a week and so far they’ve pulled over 1 million pounds of rubbish from the ocean. They’re really making a difference!

5. The Final Straw

Enough single use plastic straws are thrown away in the USA each day to wrap around the surface of the Earth…twice! The Final Straw is a reusable alternative to single use straws that comes in a handy dandy keyring so you never have to leave the house without it.

The rise of ethical brands that are dedicated to giving back to the environment is amazing to witness. Who needs to feel buyer’s remorse when your purchases are actually helping to heal the planet, right? Don’t forget to share this post with all your eco-conscious buddies so we can all go out and splurge together!
