Let’s Try This Again | October Project Pan Update

october project pan update

It’s been so long since I’ve shared a project pan update on this blog that I’m kind of embarrassed. Part of it comes down to procrastination (like how we’re discussing my October project pan update midway through November) and part of it is because of the downpour of drama I got caught in over the last few months.

But I’m here now and that’s the main thing. I guess.

If you want to catch up on how I’ve been chipping away at my project pan products during my blogging hiatus, check out my project pan Youtube videos. My no buy year playlist is packed full of project pan updates, no buy year updates and lots of tips and tricks to make your no buy year more successful.

But for now, let’s finally talk about my October project pan update.

What am I even panning anymore?

Technically, we’re into my Autumn project pan now. I switched out some of the products at the end of September to make way for some newbies. So here’s what we’re working with and what my progress looks like after the first monthL

1.Wet n Wild Coloricon Bronzer in Ticket to Brazil

I had to roll this old favourite into the Autumn project pan. Firstly, I love watching that pan grow each month (is it weird how obsessed I am with that?). Secondly, it’s so close to empty that I’m hoping I’ll be able to finish it by the end of 2020 to make a little extra room in my makeup vanity. We can hope!

2. Boots Expert Skincare Micellar Water

Clearly, I’ve barely made a dent in this over the last month and the reason for that is simple – I don’t like it. It breaks me out and it isn’t exactly a champion when it comes to removing eye makeup. But I’m determined to get through it one way or another.

3. Clinique Long Last Lipstick in Pink Spice

I’m still persevering with this lipstick. Each month I’ve been able to make the minutest of dents in it, but it’s slow going. I mean, I’m wearing a face mask everywhere I go so lipstick isn’t exactly a priority right now.

4. Rimmel Moisture Renew Lipstick in Heather Shimmer

I’ve also been trying to pan this lipstick since the beginning of the year and…it’s not going well. I blame the pandemic for the lack of progress here. After all, I’ve got nowhere to go and, even when I have, I’m bundling up like a medieval plague doctor, which doesn’t really allow for much lipstick.

5. Live Love London Love Your Look Live Mattes Palette

(Or something to that effect.)

Obviously this palette has gotten a lot of love in the past and I’d already hit pan on most the shades. But now the big question is – can I finish it off by the end up the year? I’m hoping to use up what’s left of those panned shades over the next few months so I can clear this one out of my collection.

6. Benefit Perfume in See and Be Seen Sasha

This is a pleasant enough perfume, but between this and all the other perfume gift sets I’ve been gifted over the years, I’m overrun with fragrances! It’s time to start panning them. Unfortunately, we don’t get the satisfaction of seeing the progress here, but it feels half empty now. Just take my word for it, ok?

7. Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Puker Lipgloss

Trying to pan a lipgloss during a global pandemic that requires everyone to wear a face covering is stupid. 10/10 would not recommend. 10/10 will not be able to pan this.

8. Rimmel Kate Sculpting Cosmetic Set

It’s back! Honestly, at times it felt like I’d never hit pan on this thing, but I’ve finally made some progress with the highlight. It looks like I still have a little way to go with the blush, but I’m hoping to hit pan on it by the end of the year.

9. Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in 352

It’s beginning to look a lot like red nail polish season! I don’t imagine I’ll be able to use this entire product over the next few months because I only ever pain my toenails, but I’ll be able to make a dent at least. And my toes will look super festive too!

10. A random linen-scented candle

Look, I don’t know where this candle is from or what brand it is, but I do know that my candle drawer is still out of control and it’s time to do something about it. I managed to burn the entire thing this month. That’s one candle down, approximately 3,401 left to go.

Ok, we’re back on track and ready to start using up some beauty products! I think this October project pan was a great kickstart to the Autumn segment of my project pan challenge. Let’s see what November has in store.
