Ok, so long haul flights are never a joyous event. Nobody enjoys being squeezed into one of those tiny airplane seats for nine hours or using a bathroom so small you can barely unbutton your jeans. Visiting Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai was top of my travel bucket list (and, let’s be honest, life bucket list) from the moment I heard about it. Just the thought of coming face to face with the rescued elephants as they went about their daily elephant lives, unchained, unhindered and happily plodding along with their elephant business was wonderful to me. Little did I know that actually getting to live out that dream by spending not one, but two magical days at the elephant sanctuary last month would be even more incredible than I ever could have imagined.
